Plans are well under way for Downtown New Bedford, Inc.’s Eighth Annual Taste Of SouthCoast festival!

Join us on Sunday, May 18 from 12 noon to 5 pm. Located for the second year at Pier 3 on New Bedford's historic working waterfront.The “tasting” goes until 3:15, but music and fun continue right through 5:00 pm with the Craig DeMelo Band.

Taste Of SouthCoast has a well-deserved reputation as the best deal in town for the quality and quantity of food our patrons have to sample. “Every year we hear from attendees how impressed they are with the quality of the food and incredible value” said Richard Poyant, Chairman of the event.Sample and taste a variety of offerings from the following who are signed up to date:All Friends Catering & BBQ - Artisan Bake Shop - Capriotti's Sandwich Shop - Cork Wine & Tapas - Dorothy Cox Chocolates - Flour Girls Baking Company - Freestone's City Grill- Inner Bay Restaurante- Morton's Fork Catering - No Problemo Mexican Taqueira - Olive Garden – Paddy’s Hotdog Shop - Pink Box Desserts - Seafire Grillhouse & Bar - Ten Cousin's Brick Oven - Texas Roadhouse - Tia Maria European Café - Trio Café and Lounge - Ying Dynasty  and more

There will be something for everyone to enjoy!New England crafted beers and locally grown and bottled wines, and soft drinks are available to complement the food offerings.The Taste Of SouthCoast event will be held rain or shine under the tents.

A major feature of Taste of SouthCoast is a spirit of friendly competition among local, area restaurants that will culminate in awards. Participants cast their votes for their favorite restaurant in the following categories: The “People's Choice” Awards will go to the most voted for food and dessert offering and “Best Booth Presentation awards will go to the participant that receives the most votes for best decorated and creative booth.

Pier Fish Company continues their tradition as the Premier Corporate Sponsor of the “Taste”. Pier Fish Co. has also renewed their commitment to the New Bedford Seafood Industry Scholarship Fund and asks others in the industry to contribute.A fund has been established through DNB, Inc.100% of the money donated to the scholarship fund is awarded to area students with families working in the industry.

The GPS location of Pier 3 is 228 MacArthur Drive.Parking is free in the downtown at meters, at the Whale's Tooth Parking lot, the Elm Street Parking Garage, and the YMCA.
