Downtown Holiday Stroll 2015

DNB, Inc. is organizing the annual Downtown Holiday Stroll for the weekend of December 5 and 6, 2015.
This weekend officially kicks off the Holiday Season in DNB. The historic district will be decorated with fresh laurel, red ribbons and white lights, thanks to your donations and our crew of volunteer decorators. Volunteer Opportunity: Tuesday, December 1st at 8:00 a.m. Join us in Custom House Square Park to decorate the poles! Call the DNB, Inc. office if you can help out! The City will follow us and string the lights throughout the business district creating a festive atmosphere.

To date we have:

  • Santa and Mrs. Claus arriving by antique fire truck at 12noon on the Saturday at Custom House Square Park and strolling with their young admirers, to Mare Studio on Centre Street for complimentary photos. Visits with Santa are both Saturday & Sunday 12 – 4pm
  • The Annual Parade up William Street will gather at 4pm and march up to the library for the City’s official tree lighting ceremony at 5pm. .
  • Individual store hours vary by location and will be listed in the program.
  • Entertainment is scheduled between 12noon – 4 pm.
  • Youth Groups are scheduling time to perform in the Whaling Museum Theatre.
  • NEW - A Craft vendor fair will be held in the building at corner of Elm and 89 N. Water Street. (Where DNB Burger is! 2nd floor.)
  • Craft-O-Rama will be held at 98 William Street.
  • The National Park Visitor’s Center and many non-profits will host craft activities
  • and much more is being planned!

 

The New Bedford Cultural Council and NB Beautiful are organizing The 2nd annual “Deck the Windows” event – let us know if you have windows to paint or are interested in painting. Contact Terry at twolkowicz@nbsymphony.org

DNB, Inc. is also working with the City’s Office of Tourism and Marketing to plan activities for the entire month of December – Bristol County Saving Bank is sponsoring the Holiday Happenings, more info as it becomes available.
