Downtown Holiday Stroll 2014
Saturday & Sunday,
December 6th & 7th

12 NOON - 4PM
DOWNTOWN NEW BEDFORD

DNB, Inc. is organizing the annual Downtown Holiday Stroll for the weekend of December 6 and 7.  This weekend officially kicks off the Holiday Season in DNB.  The historic district will be decorated with fresh laurel, red ribbons and white lights, thanks to your donations and our crew of volunteer decorators.  The City will have strung the lights throughout the business district creating a festive atmosphere.
 Forms will be sent out soon to businesses to sign up to participate and be listed in the official program. DNB, Inc. members and past participants will be emailed the forms.  Please contact the DNB, Inc. office if you would like to be added to the distribution list.

To date we have Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive by antique fire truck at 12noon on the Saturday at Custom House Square Park and strolling with their young admirers, to Mare Studio on Centre Street for complimentary photos – The Annual Parade up William Street will gather at 4 pm and march up to the library for the City’s official tree lighting ceremony at 5 pm.
Visits with Santa are both Saturday & Sunday 12 – 4pm. –
Individual store hours vary by location and will be listed in the program.
Entertainment is scheduled between 12noon – 4 p.m.

Youth Groups are scheduling time to perform in the Whaling Museum Theatre and the Jacob’s Gallery will host a vendor fair. The NB Choral Society will provide caroling and much more will be scheduled.

The fee to be listed in the program and advertising is:
$40 for DNB,Inc. Members
and $55 for non-members.

Participation fee covers cost of printing and advertising the event.

The New Bedford Cultural Council and NB Beautiful are organizing The “Deck the Windows” event – let us know if you have windows to paint or are interested in painting.  Contact Terry at twollowicz@nbsymphony.org Saturday and Sunday

DNB, Inc. is also working with the City’s Office of Tourism and Marketing to plan activities for the entire month of December – we will send out more info as it becomes available.
